Goodbye 2015, Hello 2016;

It is currently 9:07 pm here in Anchorage, AK. I thought I'd write a little bit since it's NYE(: This year was pretty interesting, full of changes. The biggest change being that I moved about 3,400 miles away from my parents. Yes I am aware that I am 25 (and in the military) haha but this is the farthest I've lived from my parents since coming out of the womb. Thank goodness for technology these days. I think I would be more of a mess and sad if I wasn't able to FaceTime with family as often as we do. I honestly do not remember anything I wanted to accomplish this year. But in 2016, I do have a couple goals in mind: get my CCAF,  get promoted (maybe, let's see how much studying I can get in before my test), get fitter/more active (I've recently lost almost 10 lbs. Gained some weight in the last couple months and decided to get serious and stop gaining unwanted weight haha), blog and take pictures more often, and to spend as much time with family (even if Fac

Christmas 2015

Hello there! I cannot believe how close New Year's is already. It's insane, how fast this year has gone. Just felt like taking time to recap our first Christmas not only married, but (for me) away from family. Our Christmas was pretty good. Reece was home. We had red rice and ribs (which were marinated in the Borja secret recipe) for dinner. We opened up gifts as soon as Reece got home. I wish I had thought to take a picture of us with our gifts. But I'll just list was we all got(: Sarg got two DreamBones, a couple big bones, booties, and a stuffed elephant. Loki got two treat toys and more num nums, They seems to be so excited when we were opening up their gifts. Almost as if they knew exactly what was happening. Reece got a Harley Davidson calendar, a Husker's ornament, thick socks for the cold, Xbox Live, candy, a reusable ice pack, Jurassic Park shirt, undies, key finder, iWatch, Lego set (fire station), stress person, and "Oh Shit!" handles for his jeep

Our First Christmas Tree!!

Hello! It's been quite awhile. Just sitting at home with the boys, so I thought I would do a little update! Reece has been working a different schedule lately, he isn't home for a couple days at a time. He's kinda getting a break from work work, so that's nice. But we do miss him here at the house =/ especially Sarg I think. He seems to be a little moodier when Reece isn't home. He even checks the mudroom after I come home. I think he checks for Reece, see if he's coming in. Poor puppy. Anywho, life hasn't been too bad here in Alaska. A couple weeks ago we got a good amount of snow. I was alone so I had to learn how to shovel the drive way. Which isn't as bad as I thought it would be. November 21, 2015 I think we got at least 3 inches in Anchorage. I heard the Valley (Wasilla and Palmer area) got about 9 inches that night. So crazy! At least to me since I've never lived in an area where it snows like this. I love the way the world looks whe

Little Break.

Reece and I have been on leave for the past week. Decided to take a small break from work to just relax and get a couple things done around the house. It's been a nice break from work. Even though work isn't too hectic or anything crazy. I just finished a history class at UAA this past week. Grades aren't final yet, but last I checked, I am finishing with an A(: (go me!). My next class starts this coming Wednesday. Our Backyard (Sept 30, 2015) September 29-We had our first snowfall of the year. It started during the day but didn't start to stick until the sun went down. Sarg didn't seem to mind at all. I thought he wouldn't want to go outside when there's snow on the ground. When we woke up the next day, we woke up to a beautiful white blanket of snow. (see picture above) I want to say we got about 2 inches at least. It was wonderful! When Sarg went out the next morning for his morning business, he was just a little distracted and would bark at the snow

Mrs. Headley(;

Yes, you read that right. I am officially Mrs. Jessica Andrea Headley. I recently changed my name to have Reece's last name. I admit that I am a little sad about not being Jessica Borja, but no matter what, I'm always going to be a Borja.  Part of our drive to/from work(: Other News: I didn't make Staff this year, sadly. I missed it by 6.97 points. Ohhwell. I'm definitely going to try to make it next year. We're both going to try and make it next year (fingers crossed).  It's starting to get pretty dark at night. I feel like it's been forever since I've seen the moon and had to drive in the dark. Feels a little weird. I also started swing shift today. I'm happy to be about that swing shift life again. Especially since hunny bear is on swings. It's nice that we'll be able to actually spend more time together.  Sarg & his new bed(: Looking for Bears & Moose! Weirdo sitting on the stairs.  We tried taking

73 Days.

We've lived in Anchorage for 73 days. It's gone by fast. Even though 2 months and change isn't very long, I feel like we just got here yet I also feel like we've been here for quite awhile. Summer is almost at it's end. We lose about 3 minutes of sunlight a day. 3 minutes a day! I've gotten so used to all the sun that it actually feels really weird that it's starting to get darker at night. I'm still amazed by the beauty of Alaska. I haven't explored nature as much as I wanted. But we definitely will explore more nature next summer and hopefully get into fishing! We looked at fishing rods a couple weekends ago but still unsure what equipment we actually need.  Something new: A wreath for our front door and a Nissan Rogue! Last month, Reece and I decided to trade in his Ram 1500 and get me my forever mommy car. I love it! Reece loves having the jeep. First week having it, he bought new wheels, tires, and grill. He also took the back seat out,

Our New Home(:

Hello there!  It's been a little while, hasn't it? It's cloudy and a little rainy today. According to my weather app, it's 52 degrees. Reece is currently at work and I got a day off to "study" for my Waps test tomorrow (wish me luck!). We've just been busy checking into work, in processing with the base, getting our house, and checking out the area a little bit.  Work for both of us is good so far. WAY different than Nellis. They were not lying when they said things are a lot slower at other bases. We've also noticed that overall, everyone here is so happy and cheery. Unlike at Nellis, where almost everyone hated life. The base itself is beautiful and pretty big. It almost feels like we don't live or work on a base. Anchorage itself is pretty too. Beautiful mountains, some that still have some snow. I'm gonna have to get used to the roads. They got quite a bit of one ways here, which Vegas does not have.  Anyways, we got lucky with t
