73 Days.

We've lived in Anchorage for 73 days. It's gone by fast. Even though 2 months and change isn't very long, I feel like we just got here yet I also feel like we've been here for quite awhile. Summer is almost at it's end. We lose about 3 minutes of sunlight a day. 3 minutes a day! I've gotten so used to all the sun that it actually feels really weird that it's starting to get darker at night. I'm still amazed by the beauty of Alaska. I haven't explored nature as much as I wanted. But we definitely will explore more nature next summer and hopefully get into fishing! We looked at fishing rods a couple weekends ago but still unsure what equipment we actually need.

Something new: A wreath for our front door and a Nissan Rogue! Last month, Reece and I decided to trade in his Ram 1500 and get me my forever mommy car. I love it! Reece loves having the jeep. First week having it, he bought new wheels, tires, and grill. He also took the back seat out, so Sarg has more room to walk around when we take him out.

Speaking of Sarg, here's a couple pictures of him modeling in his yard ;) We found a lake last week (University Lake) that has a trail that goes all the way around it. Dogs are allowed to swim and walk off leash. So many happy dogs. It was nice. We're gonna try and get him to learn to love the water. We also tried walking him off leash for a little bit. He did a lot better than we thought he would. We just had one issue with a puppy. He loved it(:

Other than that, nothing too exciting or new here in Anchorage. We miss our families. We FaceTime with them every weekend. Which honestly, is one of my favorite things about the weekend.  Well, I think that's good for now. Thanks for stopping by!

This time last year..

WARNING: This is a long post. I meant to share this last year but never got around to it. So here it is now. My story on when I got sick last year. Probably the scariest time of my life... September 28, 2017- I woke up thinking I was starting to get sick. Ugh. Who likes being sick? It was kind of hard to breathe, I felt sluggish and thought I was starting to get a fever. It was Thursday and also the last day of the training class I was in for work. I got up and got ready to try to survive the day. I wasn't going to let a cold stop me. For the last day, we spent the morning just going over one of the loading systems we use and then after lunch we were going to end the class with a class evaluation. Being a seasoned AMMO troop, I stood off to the side so the younger, newer members could get more hands on training. Half-way through the morning, I started to feel a weird sensation in my left arm. It also was harder to breathe than it was when I first woke up. Noticing this, I start...
