This time last year..

WARNING: This is a long post. I meant to share this last year but never got around to it. So here it is now. My story on when I got sick last year. Probably the scariest time of my life... September 28, 2017- I woke up thinking I was starting to get sick. Ugh. Who likes being sick? It was kind of hard to breathe, I felt sluggish and thought I was starting to get a fever. It was Thursday and also the last day of the training class I was in for work. I got up and got ready to try to survive the day. I wasn't going to let a cold stop me. For the last day, we spent the morning just going over one of the loading systems we use and then after lunch we were going to end the class with a class evaluation. Being a seasoned AMMO troop, I stood off to the side so the younger, newer members could get more hands on training. Half-way through the morning, I started to feel a weird sensation in my left arm. It also was harder to breathe than it was when I first woke up. Noticing this, I start

Half Birthday(:

As I write this, Joey's just sitting in his bouncer, talking excitedly and watching our dog Sarg. I cannot believe that my little stallion turned 6 months about 13 days ago. Where has time gone?! Still has the feeding tube. His goal is to eat a minimum of 110 mLs every 3 hours. What he doesn't eat on his own, we feed him through the tube. At night, since he seems to be extra sleepy, we do a continuous feed so we don't have to bother him. This month Starting to tolerate tummy time. He loves his piano mat!  We've been able to keep gloves off him so he's been really catching up-using his hands more, playing with his feet, reach

Hospital Stays & Having a "Tubie" Baby

So far this year, our little man has had to be admitted to the hospital 3 times. Making it a total of 4 hospitals stays so far in his life. It's been stressful to say the least. Hospital Stay #1 Beginning of January, little man had bronchiolitis. Which, if you don't already know, is a viral infection of the bronchioles (the small airways in the lungs). We had just gotten back from visiting Reece's family for Christmas. He had to stay in the hospital for about 5 days. He spent 3 days in the PICU (Pediatric Intesive Care Unit) and then the rest of his stay on the regular Peds floor. He had to get scheduled breathing treatments to help break up anything in his lungs and to help him breathe better. Other than that, they were just monitoring him and giving him any support he needed to get over the "hump" of the cold. My maternity leave had just ended and I was starting ALS (Airman Leadership School). I knew being in ALS, I wasn't going to be able to be at the ho

4 Months(:

Tomorrow Little Man will be 5 months already! So this is me trying to catch up by posting his 4 month picture and facts(: Unfortunately, with everything we had going on in the beginning of January, I forgot to take his 3 month picture!                                                                                                                                                             As you can see, he wasn't the happiest baby when I was taking these pictures ;) Weight Around 11 lbs. 12 oz. Seriously...how is my little one 2 months old already?! 2 MONTHS?!  Weight 10 lbs. 10 oz. Length 21.65 in/55 cm Clothes Size 0-3 month/3 month Hair Lost pretty much all the hair he had on top (slowly growing back) and he has a bald ring on the back of his head where he rubs his head a lot when he's on his back.  Eyes BLUE! He's been eating between 20-25 oz a day. Made the decision to slowly make the switch to formula (for a couple reasons).  This month Still doesn't like tummy time. He'll hold his head up and look around  when  he's sitting up (with help of course) or held up on our chest. Yet, he still doesn't want to try and lift it up when he's laying down on his belly. He favors the right side of his head. Smiles and coos a lot more. He has als

Joseph Paul//1 Month Update!

Our little prince has been home with us for 3 weeks now after spending his first 19 days of life in the NICU. In case you didn't know, he got transferred to the NICU after birth because he had a pheumothorax/air pockets outside his lungs. The NICU was full of ups and downs but we're so happy he's better and home.  Finally found some time to sit and do a 1 month update(:  A little late..but better late than never right?  Weight 9 lbs. 4 oz. Length 21.65 in/55 cm Clothes Size Newborn and 0-3 month. He’s almost too long for NB and 0-3 is a little big. Hair so much hair in the back, not as much on top.
