30 Week Appointment Update

Hello everyone!

Last week we had our last appointment with the Maternal Fetal Specialist at Alaska Native Medical. We got to see our little one for a little bit and then Doc checked the stitch. During the ultrasound, the ultrasound tech asked us what our due date was again. She had just measured the size of his belly and his head. I told her "October 10th". We were 30 weeks 4 days the day of our appointment. After I told her our due date, she told us that he's measuring 32 weeks and a couple days. She also told us he has a big belly (he probably has the Borja belly :] ) and hair! She also told us that he weighed 4 lbs 6 oz and that he's currently in the 80th percentile. Looking like he's going to be a big boy. It's not super surprising he's a bit bigger than average. If I remember right, at every ultrasound they measured his length he measured at least a week and a couple days bigger than what we were.

Overall, our appointment went well. Doc said that the stitch looks perfect and seems to be doing it's job. We're a little sad that we're done seeing the specialist off base. The doctor, nurse, and ultrasound tech we had there are amazing and super sweet. We will be forever grateful for them and the ultrasound tech who caught the funneling back in May. We are now 31 weeks and 2 days. When we first found out about my short cervix, we were afraid that we wouldn't make it to 25 weeks. Look at us now(:

I'll be getting the stitch taken out sometime after September 12. Which is also when I go back to work. We're prepping for him being here soon after I get the stitch taken out just to be as prepared as we can. Even if he stays in til our due date or close too, it's getting pretty close. I can't believe how fast these last couple months went by. I'm excited to have him here with us, mainly just so I can sleep like normal again and hopefully my hip pain will go away. But I'm also sad it's almost over. I've absolutely loved being pregnant.

Baby Joey moves around regularly. I can feel him up in my ribs now and also down near my pelvis. Sometimes at the same time. I haven't seen any limbs sticking out yet (my placenta might be in the way) but I can see when he's pushing himself against my belly.

Anyways, thanks for checking in! Until next time ;]

This time last year..

WARNING: This is a long post. I meant to share this last year but never got around to it. So here it is now. My story on when I got sick last year. Probably the scariest time of my life... September 28, 2017- I woke up thinking I was starting to get sick. Ugh. Who likes being sick? It was kind of hard to breathe, I felt sluggish and thought I was starting to get a fever. It was Thursday and also the last day of the training class I was in for work. I got up and got ready to try to survive the day. I wasn't going to let a cold stop me. For the last day, we spent the morning just going over one of the loading systems we use and then after lunch we were going to end the class with a class evaluation. Being a seasoned AMMO troop, I stood off to the side so the younger, newer members could get more hands on training. Half-way through the morning, I started to feel a weird sensation in my left arm. It also was harder to breathe than it was when I first woke up. Noticing this, I start

5 Months

Soon Joey will will be 6 months old. That's half a year. My only question is, HOW?!  Weight  12 lbs. 3 oz. Length Unsure once again Clothes Size 3-6 month (finally moving on up!) Hair Slowly but surely growing. Hair on the back is shorter and he has a bald spot. Hair color is light brown Eyes to my amazement, his eyes are still a beautiful blue Sleeping Been taking little longer naps lately and sleeps a good minimum of 5-6 hours a night.  Eating Now on Alimentum (hypoallergenic formula). Still has the feeding tube. His goal is to eat a minimum of 110 mLs every 3 hours. What he doesn't eat on his own, we feed him through the tube. At night, since he seems to be extra sleepy, we do a continuous feed so we don't have to bother him. This month Starting to tolerate tummy time. He loves his piano mat!  We've been able to keep gloves off him so he's been really catching up-using his hands more, playing with his feet, reach

Half Birthday(:

As I write this, Joey's just sitting in his bouncer, talking excitedly and watching our dog Sarg. I cannot believe that my little stallion turned 6 months about 13 days ago. Where has time gone?! It seriously feels like just last week we found out we were pregnant. It's true what other parents say, blink and you'll miss it. Any who(: Weight  14 lbs 11 oz Length 25.2 in Clothes Size Some 3-6 and 6 months.  Hair Coming in nicely. Finally has been growing hair in his little old man hairline. Still brown.
